Lawn Care Technician / Grounds Maintenance / Greenkeeper

Starting salary of £24,150 and on target earnings of £26,650

What will I be doing?

  • Deliver fantastic customer service, to develop and maintain relationships with customers, whilst having excellent attention to detail to get best results. 

  • Work outside on customers lawns completing lawn care treatments, both individually and also with colleagues on larger jobs. Some days we can be going to one property on a larger renovation job with several colleagues and other days we are working individually visiting twenty properties to apply fertiliser, weed and moss control treatments. 

  • Engage with both existing and potential new customers about their lawn. With new customers, we follow a 14-point lawn analysis process to understand current lawn condition and requirements, allowing suitable treatment plans to be recommended and agreed with customers.

  • Working with and supporting administration and operational staff to coordinate and ensure treatments get completed, all to a high level of quality.

  • Using leading professional grade mechanical equipment to scarify, aerate and renovate lawns.

  • Applying moss, weed and pesticide treatments, along with other specialist treatments such as top dressing and overseeding.

  • Updating our customer records with accurate information about treatments carried out and lawn conditions.

  • Supporting marketing initiatives, such as completing leaflet drops around current customers.

  • Ensure machinery, equipment and vehicles are kept clean and to standard.

What skills or qualifications do I need to have?

  • Have an interest in lawn care, maybe even with previous experience in an employed role or in your spare time? We are however committed to training and developing should the right person not have a specific working background in the sector. 

  • Have a positive attitude towards work, which can be physical at times, enjoying working both individually and with colleagues in all weather conditions.

  • Be proactive, reliable and punctual, with a high level of attention to detail.

  • A driving licence.

  • Want to learn and develop. We need colleagues to hold PA1 and PA6 certificates in the safe use of pesticides however we will train the right candidate to get these qualifications if not already held.

  • Have a flexible attitude towards working hours; working longer hours in busy periods.

We offer an annualised hours system which means we are able to provide our team with additional days off at Christmas and New Year, in addition to your annual leave allocation. Start times are 7:30 with finish times being variable due to visit locations and seasonal demand. As a trend we have an earlier finish time and less working hours in Summer & Winter compared to our busier Spring & Autumn seasons. Paid overtime at an enhanced rate can be available on Saturdays / bank holidays. 

Our customers are based within a 40-mile radius of our business unit in Gloucester (GL2 5HS). Our ideal candidate would live within this coverage area.
