Kinship Social Worker

Gloucestershire County Council are looking to expand their current team. The Kinship team is looking for a Social Worker to join a well-structured and organised team. As well as joining a supportive team our client also offers a competitive salary, opportunities for training to enhance your skills and potential progression within your team. The Kinship Social Worker role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

Kinship Social Worker Responsibilities Include:

  • Conducting Fostering Statutory Visits.
  • Household Foster Carer review assessment and reporting.
  • Writing Standards of Care reports
  • Writing foster care development plans
  • Writing educational material for special guardian applicants.
  • Updating the LA database accordingly and performance management.
  • Undertaking Special Guardianship Assessments
  • Representing carers at the Fostering Panel
  • Providing evidence to the court when necessary
  • Working in partnership with the Children's Social Worker
  • Connected Persons Assessments
  • Giving evidence in Court

Requirements / Experience preferred:

  • Post qualifying experience of working as a Fostering Social Worker within the UK Social Care industry.
  • HCPC Registration
  • 1-2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
