- Minimum NVQ level 3 electrical qualification (HNC preferred)
- Good level of PLC and invertor fault diagnostic skills
- Strong mechanical skills (preferably minimum NVQ Level)
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment post training completion
- Good problem solving skills with ability to get to root cause
Job Objectives and Responsibilities
Working as part of a team or individually, you will be responsible for scheduled maintenance, fault finding and repair of food manufacturing equipment and associated support services and systems.
Main Duties
Carry out routine scheduled servicing and maintenance on food manufacturing, ancillary and associated equipment
Suitably trained and competent to operate within both the mechanical and electrical disciplines as required
Attend machine and equipment breakdowns in a timely manner and apply sound engineering principals to diagnosis and repair
Apply root cause analysis principals to identify and subsequently rectify issues to deliver continuous improvement
Maintain good maintenance record keeping as required
Support the Engineering Department at all levels to enhance understanding and reduce downtime
Support both the Engineering Shift Managers and Engineering Coordinator in selecting correct spare parts and maintaining stock levels
Attend training courses (internal and external) as required by Prepworld to build personal and Engineering Department capabilities
Assist in training/mentoring other members of the Engineering Team or other Departments if required to do so
Maintain and promote good health and safety practices as a core principle of engineering activity on site
Participate in Capital and improvement Projects as required
Maintain good housekeeping practices within the Engineering Department and site wide as required
Support the Facilities Management Department as required
The role involves manual handling and the ability to withstand working in cold storage conditions on a daily basis
Key Relationships
Maintain and continually improve good working relationships at all levels with all Prepworld Departments
Key Accountabilities
Maintain and promote health and safety at work best practices to achieve zero lost hours within the Engineering Department due to injury
100% completion of all scheduled maintenance tasks duly issued
Respond to all breakdown requests in a timely manner
Escalation of any major issues preventing prompt problem resolution in a timely manner
Skill Requirements
Suitably trained and competent in mechanical and electrical disciplines
Ideally, experience of PLC and machine control systems
Good computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word
Ability to problem solve
Good verbal and written communication skills
Qualifications: Recognised apprenticeship or minimum of a Level 3 NVQ in either a mechanical or electrical discipline
Specific Knowledge & Experience: Ideally, previous experience of FMCG industry
Specific Skills: Multiskilled electrical/mechanical
