Here at XPO, we take our people seriously. We’re looking for a talented Transport Operator to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working a 4 on 4 off shift pattern covering the Night shift. This is for our contract based in Thurrock.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £28,500 plus a night shift allowance of £2,400 per annum.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

  • Prepare work for our customer and pre-brief drivers at the Start of shift
  • Co-ordinate the transport operations on site to meet both customer and company expectations
  • Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of Customer vehicles / subcontractors minimising the cost impact to the business
  • Daily Report of customer KPIs and volume calculations
  • Execute customers plan and make changes where necessary to limit stock outs
  • Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are logged and communicated to management and customer in a timely manner
  • First line of communication for the driver workforce.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

  • A good understating of fast-paced transport teams
  • Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various stakeholders
  • Good understanding of Microsoft packages including Excel and Outlook
