Reed are acting on behalf of a long standing client who are seeking a dedicated Accountant to handle their general accounting and tax activities in the UK and the Netherlands. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), cash receipts, general ledger analysis/reconciliation, financial analysis, and tax advice. The position is based in London and offers a hybrid working arrangement.
Day to Day of the Role:- Process AR and AP invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage customer and vendor portals, including setup and query resolution.
- Prepare reports for HMRC and Belastingdienst, including VAT UK, VAT NL, ESL, Intrastat Arrivals, and Dispatches.
- Provide tax advice on new deals billed or shipped outside the UK.
- Claim customer rebates and work closely with Account Managers to advise on potential deal issues.
- Troubleshoot various levels of sales operations, invoicing, deal creation, and portal issues.
- Verify and accurately apply cash receipts to customer accounts.
- Maintain organized documentation for internal and external controls.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies and ensure timely and accurate posting of receipts and payments.
- Adhere to departmental policies, quality assurance programs, and safety standards.
- Provide ad hoc reporting and support for various accounts as needed by management.
- Minimum of five years of experience in Indirect Tax, AR, AP, cash receipts, and reconciliation.
- Accounting degree preferred but not essential; training provided.
- Knowledge of Dutch is advantageous but not essential.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Familiarity with general accounting procedures.
