Alexander Steele is currently working in partnership with a highly established food manufacturing business based in London, we are exclusively supporting 2 major recruitment projects for this client due to improved sales & growth, across their UK Operations. We have been asked us to assist them with the recruitment of a Site Factory Manager to lead all operational, Project & C.I activities within this fast moving, short shelf life plant. You will have site responsibility reporting into the Operations Director

This is a No.2 role in many ways but its also a great role for future GM & Site Leads as you will have full site responsibility the majority of the time on a day to day basis as well having an input into short, medium and long term strategy

As Site Factory Manager, you will be responsible for driving and improving performance in the manufacturing facility with a key focus on operational performance. There has been a large capital investment at the site in the last couple of years, so this is a great opportunity to lead and drive change at the facility.

For this role my client will pay up to �85k as a basic salary along with a pension & 33 days holiday.

The Role

  • Increase production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining current quality standards.
  • Develop systems and processes that track and optimize productivity and standards, metrics and performance targets to ensure effective return on assets
  • Implement strategies in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus
  • Identify areas needing improvement and implementing changes.


The Candidate

  • Experienced in food manufacturing is essential within short shelf life products, such as sandwiches, bakery, ready meals etc.
  • Must have a least 3-5 years experience in a senior Factory or Operational management role.
  • Good commercial acumen
  • Able to identify and implement change within the site
  • Experience in a highly automated, semi-automated environment would be beneficial
  • Excellent leadership skills
