The Supply Quality Engineer role is responsible for the design, development, and manufacturing of our performance cars, working with designers, engineers, suppliers, and manufacturing as an important individual contributor to a successful vehicle programmes.

Key Responsibilities

Complete the supplier quality activity throughout the product lifecycle from concept through to production and service life.
Responsible for working with and developing the supplier, including DFM, so that they deliver to time cost and quality, throughout the programme to ensure the parts are approved and ready for customer vehicles.
Responsible for quality manufacturing activity with supplier and identification of critical and significant characteristics and ensure that these are identified and managed by the supplier.
Be on site at supplier as required to ensure outgoing parts are supplied to specification.
Support the supplier in achieving part approval and communicate status of PPAP, including reviewing and approving first article inspection (FAIR) by supplier prior to shipment.
Responsible for the relevant part quality plans (PQP), working with the engineers and supplier to ensure part is fully approved through design manufacturing and verification and validation.
Act as centre of excellence for root cause analysis and corrective actions of quality issues and perform verification of corrective actions at supplier within the contracted time scales using 8D and SCAR methodology.
Support, lead and where relevant sign off engineering change management process.
Report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for suppliers (PPM, etc)
Management of supplier quality concerns through SCAR and 8D processes in agreed time scales to enable parts to be supplied to maintain build.
Conduct supplier approval and supplier process audits at suppliers, to support continual improvement and nomination processes, including the supplier business management system capability to ISO 9001, IATF16949.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Essential
Degree or Equivalent in engineering, science or numerical discipline.
Experience in Interior systems for high end automotive product or equivalent industry. Knowledge of Leather, wrapping methods, interior plastic, visual carbon fibre, injection moulding , SLA and 3D printing preferred.
Experience of working in engineering or technology role in a relevant industry with a proven record of meeting needs of Internal and External customers.
Experience of APQP or similar quality integration into project delivery processes with new model introduction requirements.
Ability to Travel in the UK and internationally as required. (Most of our supplier base is in the UK)
External Auditor experience is essential, ideally qualified external auditor to ISO9001, IATF16949 or equivalent.
Experience of using a Lean Six Sigma approach with fundamental understanding of process capability, ideally with at least green qualification.
Organised, persuasive, resourceful, flexible, ambitious, self-directing, passion for delivering objectives, comfortable challenging existing processes.
Clear and effective communication skills with internal and external clients
Must be a team player.

Desirable
Experience of working in a stand-alone SQE role, experience of designing or developing relevant processes.
Additional development of databases or data analysis using python.
Competent in standard MS Office packages, advanced Excel skills.
