Join a leading Solicitors, one of the largest legal practices in Surrey and a leading firm in the Southeast. We are renowned for our strong history, heritage, and commitment to providing quality, practical, and cost-effective legal solutions. We are currently seeking a Paralegal to support our Commercial Property department, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction through expert, clear advice and assistance.

Role Overview

The Paralegal will provide crucial support to fee earners, enabling them to operate at optimum efficiency. This role requires effective self-management and initiative, handling a variety of responsibilities from administrative tasks to client interactions.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Record and understand the billing/financial requirements of the department.
  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents, potentially transcribing digital dictation.
  • Manage filing systems including the opening, closing, storage, and retrieval of client files.
  • Handle mail and ensure all copying tasks are completed efficiently.
  • Schedule appointments, arrange meetings, and maintain up-to-date diaries for fee earners.
  • Provide professional and friendly support to clients and agents, both in person and over the phone.
  • Assist with completion statements and post-exchange/pre-completion formalities.
  • Manage online form submissions including SDLT forms and Land Registry documents.
  • Obtain necessary information from local authorities and other organisations.
  • Ensure confidentiality and effective operation of the firm’s case management system.
  • Engage in marketing and other activities to support the department’s growth.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Legal background with experience in Lending/Property law.
  • Proficient in IT and relevant software packages.
  • Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize workloads effectively.
  • Proactive approach to work and client interactions.
  • Commitment to the firm’s values and a genuine interest in legal work.

Qualifications

  • Recognised Paralegal qualification routes such as Institute of Paralegals, CLT Specialist Paralegal Course, or a Law Graduate with relevant experience.
