We are looking for an experienced Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team in Guildford. This permanent role offers a competitive salary and the chance to contribute to the smooth operation of our medical practice. The successful candidate will have a strong background in medical administration, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to providing high-quality support to our medical professionals and patients.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage medical appointment scheduling and patient registration processes.
  • Transcribe medical documents, write letters, and prepare patient reports as directed by healthcare professionals.
  • Handle confidential patient information with discretion and in accordance with data protection laws.
  • Coordinate and organise medical tests, procedures, and surgeries.
  • Maintain and manage patient records, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Answer phone calls, respond to patient inquiries, and communicate messages to the appropriate staff member.
  • Liaise with other healthcare providers, insurance companies, and external agencies as required.
  • Manage billing and invoicing, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Order and maintain office supplies and medical inventory.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Medical Secretary or similar administrative role in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology, procedures, and the healthcare system.
  • Proficient in medical office software and MS Office, with excellent typing skills.
  • Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.
  • Knowledge of medical billing and coding is advantageous.
  • Relevant qualifications in medical administration or secretarial work.
