Learning Support Assistant
  • Salary: £85-£90 per day

We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a school in Hailsham that offers a therapeutic approach to education for children with social, emotional, and mental health needs. This role is ideal for someone who can provide continuous compassion and understanding, ensuring that students feel physically and emotionally safe in their learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work closely with children who have complex emotional needs.
  • Manage challenging behaviour effectively and intervene proactively to ensure a positive outcome.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority, and acting decisively when necessary.
  • Understand how pupils learn and adapt to meet their individual needs.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment for students with special needs.
  • Support the school’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working with children who have complex emotional needs is highly desirable.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviour and maintain a calm and supportive presence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build good relationships with pupils.
  • Demonstrated understanding of different learning needs and how to support them.
  • Genuine care and commitment to helping students thrive in an educational setting.
