Are you passionate about early years education and looking for a rewarding opportunity in Birmingham? Zest Education are currently seeking a dedicated EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a team at a school in Halesowen on a full-time basis, starting immediately. You will be required to work Monday to Friday, 8:30am till 3:30pm, supporting and engaging with the children.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of young children. Your responsibilities will include assisting the class teacher, preparing learning materials, supervising activities, and providing one-on-one support to students.

You will be expected to:

  • To work under the direction of the teacher, assist with the planning of lessons, prepare equipment and resources, and participate in training.
  • Watch over and assist students, including those with special needs.
  • Build positive rapport with students and engage with them in a way that best suits their needs.
  • Motivate the students to participate in group activities and teacher-led projects.
  • Encourage independence and self-worth while setting high standards.
  • Establish and keep a focused, organised, and encouraging atmosphere in compliance with lesson plans.
  • Encourage students to behave well.

Requirements:

  • Have relevant experience within an educational setting or working with EYFS children.
  • Own an enhanced DBS or be willing to obtain one.
  • A comprehension of good teaching techniques for all Early Years subjects.
  • Have well-developed interpersonal skills - the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Be able to work effectively in a team as well as independently.
  • A genuine desire in helping children with educational aspirations.
  • Positive and patient attitude.

Zest Education are an REC audited agency and are dedicated to safeguarding children. All candidates must hold an enhanced DBS (or allow us to process one for you) and be registered to the DBS Update Service, be able to provide references to cover the last two years and successfully pass all other necessary safeguarding checks prior to clearance for work.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.

The role advertised is for temporary supply work.
