Technical Officer

We are working with an International Conservation charity, who have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Officer whose role will be to support the Conservation Programmes team.

Position: GIS Conservation Technical Officer

Location: Hybrid / Suffolk (flexible working available)

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week

Salary: £23,500 per annum

About the Role

The charity is at the forefront of international conservation efforts through their programme of land purchase and land acquisition in collaboration with their international partners, including the development of carbon and other payments for ecosystem services projects. They are seeking a Technical Officer whose role will be to support the Conservation Programmes team, working closely with the Senior Technical Officer and Director of Conservation for the development and monitoring of conservation projects and communication of the organisation's conservation impact.

About You

We are looking for applicants who are passionate about wildlife conservation and committed to furthering the mission and ethos of the charity, you will need to have the following skills and experience:

  • An excellent knowledge of spatial and ecological data analyses, and monitoring and GIS
  • Ideally you will have experience in fieldwork and biodiversity conservation
  • Be able to translate technical reports and assessments to a wide range of audiences
  • The ability to work independently as well as in close collaboration with colleagues
  • Good communication skills

You may have experience in areas such as; GIS Analyst, Environment GIS Technician, Environmental Monitoring Assistant, Environmental Monitoring Technician, Ecological Data Analyst, Environmental Data Scientist, Environmental Data Analyst, Ecology Data and Project Manager, Assistant Ecologist, Ecological Technical Advisor, Environmental Technician, etc.
