Recruit4staff are representing a well-established gastropub operator in their search for a Head Chef to work at their well established pub in Halifax

What are client is offering the successful Head Chef:

  • Pay: £36,000pa
  • Hours of Work: 45 hour contract - hours will vary on a rota basis 
  • Duration: Permanent

Job Role:

  • Responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and stock management.
  • Manage kitchen budgets, including food cost control, supplier negotiations, and waste reduction strategies.
  • Lead, train, and motivate a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and efficient service.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with food safety regulations and health inspections.
  • Monitor portion control and presentation to maintain brand standards and customer satisfaction.
  • Be initiative to suggest ways to improve food sales and performance within the pub. Increasing the number of daily covers

What our client is looking for in the successful Head Chef:

  • Previous experience working as a head chef - ESSENTIAL 
  • Experience of running a busy kitchen - ESSENTIAL
  • Food Hygiene Certificate - ESSENTIAL
  • Formal culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) - DESIRABLE
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
