Lead Designer | This role is based at the Halifax office, with some flexibility for remote work (to be agreed subject to job offer) and travel for meetings and projects | £35,000-£45,000

Do you have a passion for creating immersive experiences in museums, heritage, and culture?

In this role, you will lead the creative vision and design outputs of projects, ensuring a perfect balance between creative engagement and practicality. From conceptualisation to execution, you'll manage people and processes, delivering designs that captivate and inspire.

Are you the right person for the job?

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Sketchup, and/or other 3D modelling or CAD-based software
  • Familiarity with CDM 2015 regulations and requirements, with hand drawing ability to communicate ideas effectively
  • Genuine interest and experience in design for museums and heritage sectors, with a solid understanding of production and manufacture specifications
  • Experience in managing people and projects efficiently, with excellent communication skills

What will your role look like?

  • Creative Leadership: Lead projects from inception to completion, including tender concept proposals, and passionately communicate ideas to clients
  • Collaborative Workshops: Facilitate creative workshops with client stakeholders and audiences, driving program coordination with the wider design team
  • Design Excellence: Develop space planning, story mapping, visitor flow, and dwell, ensuring designs are collections and content-led
  • Research and Strategy: Conduct research, develop design strategies, and masterplan projects, adhering to budget and program requirements
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate across the organisation to maintain creative and quality standards, ensuring compliance with accessibility standards
