My client is looking to add an experienced Controls & Automation Technician to their site. The site is commutable from Glasgow, Falkirk, Stirling, Livingston and areas of West Lothian and Edinburgh.

I am looking for a candidate with a passion for engineering, who will find solutions to unusual automation challenges, and offer ideas for improving current processes whilst taking into consideration future opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Modernising PLC platforms and integrated control systems with a demonstrable ability to problem solve and write code
  • Integration of technology within new and existing systems including process control, end-of-line automation, validation systems
  • Reading and updating Schematics and Documentation
  • Design Contribution, Delivery & Commissioning of manufacturing capability
  • Proactively implementing sustainable ways of working to ensure asset capability, availability and performance
  • Delivering skills development programs with full responsibility for up-skilling staff in automation and control systems
  • Keeping up to date with the latest automation and systems technology
  • Identifying opportunities to optimise and improve through the adoption and integration of automation
  • Working with project teams to influence design improvements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in rolling out 6 Axis applications
  • Expertise programming PLCs to an advanced level
  • Experience with Kuka robotic systems
  • Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • A high level of technical knowledge and the ability to apply this to practical problems
  • Experience of producing high quality, well formatted programs
  • Hands on experience of assembly and test of automated solutions
