Administrative Assistant / Trainee Tanker Planner

Menzies Distribution has an immediate start available to join our dynamic team in Droitwich. This exciting role begins with mastering essential administrative tasks and evolves into an opportunity to become a trainee tanker planner. This position offers a unique blend of initial hands-on experience in administrative duties, providing a solid foundation, and paves the way for your growth into a specialised and strategic role in tanker planning.

What your day will look like:

  • Engage with external and internal customers, ensuring friendly and professional communication to maintain a positive impression.
  • Address and resolve customer queries and concerns professionally, courteously, and efficiently.
  • Use various internal computer systems to perform tasks.
  • Perform various data entry tasks accurately.
  • Scan and upload POD (Proof of Delivery) documents to various customer portals.
  • Create Purchase Orders (POs) as needed.
  • Manage internal and external wash logs.
  • Conduct mileage and fuel reconciliations.
  • Plan and coordinate using the Transport Management System (TMS).
  • Monitor and follow up on documentation to support transport operations.
  • Debrief transport paperwork.

What we need from you:

  • Right To Work in the UK
  • Excellent computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Word & Excel)
  • Previous administration experience.
  • Good numeric skills including accuracy.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and numeracy skills
  • Good level of financial understanding
