Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? We are currently seeking dedicated and empathetic SEMH Teachers to join our secondary schools in Harlow. As an SEMH Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing tailored support and guidance to students facing social, emotional, and mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs and abilities of students with SEMH needs.
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued.
  • Implement effective behavior management strategies, building positive relationships and promoting self-regulation and emotional resilience.
  • Collaborate with support staff, external agencies, and families to develop personalized support plans and interventions for students.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adapting teaching approaches and resources to meet evolving needs and goals.
  • Provide pastoral care and emotional support to students, promoting their well-being and positive mental health.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent, with experience working with students with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of SEMH issues and their impact on learning and behavior.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students and colleagues.
  • Resilience and patience to work with challenging behavior and complex emotional needs.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusion and equality, ensuring all students have access to a high-quality education.
  • Willingness to undergo training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in supporting SEMH students.
