Main Purpose: Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene, HR, BRCGS and TQS system.

Responsible to: The Managing Director

Responsible for: Compliance, Food Safety, Audits and Customer satisfaction.

Monday to Friday - Office Hours

£40'000 - £45'000 per year, dependent on experience.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The role will be to assist the senior Management team with total compliance in audit and technical matters.
  • Leading the Food Safety & Quality Standards culture on site.
  • To ensure compliance in all areas of the business including manufacturing, processing, policies, and procedures.
  • To ensure the TQS (Total Quality System) incorporates all legislative and compliance updates.
  • To regularly audit our own systems to maintain and keep up with increasingly stringent regulations.
  • To liaise with external audit bodies including Environmental Health, Red Tractor, BMPA, BRCGS, and customers.
  • To manage all enquiries from suppliers, customers, public bodies, and members of public.
  • To complete all audit and supplier questionnaire requests.
  • To ensure conformity.

Key Skills:

  • A self-starter with an analytical and methodical approach to work.
  • To be diligent, accurate, honest and maintain professional standards.
  • Competency in IT skills, mainly Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communications skills whether verbal, written or digital form.
  • To be able to liaise at all levels with Directors, Managers and Supervisors and all personnel.
  • To communicate clearly and calmly, ensuring issues are dealt with.
  • To have good punctuation, spelling, and grammar.

Company requirements:

  • To keep up to date with all relevant food legislation.
  • To ensure awareness of change is broadcast though the organisation.
  • To be able to liaise with production personnel, company needs and wishes.

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Daily management Responsibility for scientific or legislative updating of codes of practice.
  • Good administration and housekeeping
