JHE & Partners are delighted to be working with specialists within their field based in Harrogate as they look to recruit an Accounts Assistant working heavily within the Purchase Ledger department. This is a permanent full-time position and would require someone to support my clients finance team. The ideal candidate will come from an accounts payable/receivable background as well as knowledge of stock control functions. This role will be processing purchase orders which will be processed onto Sage. The core hours for this role are 8:30-5 with an hour of lunch.

Responsibilities

  • Processing Purchase orders for job related work, urgency is key.
  • Responsible for processing all purchase orders to sage, these require checking for approvals to company guidelines and gaining approval where needed.
  • Checking and processing Goods received items for job related work.
  • Accounts payable functions, including processing invoices, reconciling statements, and dealing with any queries, this can be high volume.
  • Aged Creditors balances review month end with line manager.
  • Reconciliation of Subcontractors analysis, along with WIP & Customer deposits.
  • Discuss with line manager any possible missed recharges with line before processing, then invoice out to customer/client.
  • Preparation of the mid-month and end of month payment run for review
  • Review and submit credit card transactions for review, and post to ledger
  • Will have some functions with sales ledger to cover annual leave, must be diverse

This is a very fast-paced role and would require someone from a purchase ledger background. My client is looking for someone who is pro-active in their approach and is not afraid to get help out in other areas of the business.
