SEN Teaching Assistant - North Yorkshire

Are you a passionate, dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant to join a team based in North Yorkshire.

Duration: 2 months initially 

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 5pm, 37 hrs/week 

SEN Teaching Assistant role: Full JD Available

  • Support a young person with SEN
  • Supporting vulnerable leaners following permanent exclusion from school
  • Writing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) advice (signed off by teacher)
  • Contribute to Individual Education Plans and specific programmes of work
  • Direct intervention using evidence-based approaches
  • Contribute to reports, reviews and re-assessments as required, including writing advice for EHCPs with support of specialist teachers
  • Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young people that you are responsible for and come into contact with
  • Develop and sustain effective relationships with health, statutory and voluntary agencies, and professionals within the broader range of services for children and families to support children and young people
  • Provide data on children and young people’s progress and outcomes to inform LA data collection and analysis, service development and professional performance management

Essential Requirements

  • Up to date knowledge of SEMH and the impact of this on CYP’s development in all areas, and how this may manifest in school and home
  • Knowledge of Statutory Assessment procedures/Code of Practice
  • Can demonstrate experience of working with pupils with needs and working with families of SEMH
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enhanced DBS registered to the update service
