- In accordance with the Immigration Act 2016, where the role is customer-facing, and the post holder is required to speak to members of the public
- Carry out robust investigations and inspections to support representations and reviews including appearing at member panels of premise licences under the Licensing Act 20037 Carry out Enforcement functions including to enable the Council to meet its statutory obligations of private housing, environmental protection, fly tipping, animal services, including inspection, enforcement, education and advice.
- In line with authorisation and line manage instructions, carry out investigations, instigate and prepare prosecutions, attend court proceedings and deliver evidence in the event of statutory action taken for breaches.
- Must be prepared to look through waste collection/ fly tipping.
- Must have a willingness to learn.
- To take part in any out of hours environmental health rota and to take a lead role during a shift (subject to meeting relevant competency levels in areas covered)
- A working and up to date knowledge of relevant health, safety and welfare legislation and approved codes of practice in accordance with the level of the post
