Role Overview:

We are currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1-1 support to a child with additional needs at one of our partner schools around Havering. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the life of a young learner and contribute to their academic and personal development.

Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1-1 support to a child with additional needs, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.

• Assist the child with tasks and activities, adapting teaching methods and resources to meet their individual needs.

• Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement personalised learning plans.

• Monitor the child's progress and development, providing regular feedback to the teacher and SENCO.

• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment where the child feels valued, safe, and empowered to succeed.

Requirements:

• Experience working with children with additional needs, preferably within a school setting.

• Relevant qualifications or training in special educational needs (SEN) and/or teaching assistant roles.

• Understanding of different learning styles and strategies to support children with additional needs.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.

• Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children facing challenges.
