A global professional services company are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Assistant Team Lead to supervise the delivery of all accounts payable activities and assist the AP Team Lead in meeting targets. This will be an initial 6 month contract role and will be based onsite in Hayes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise activities assigned by the Accounts Payable Team Lead.
  • Understand and perform the AP lead role.
  • Assist AP processors with day-to-day transaction processing questions and problems.
  • Supervise the regular AP processing team.
  • Provide assistance to staff and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Comply with all client policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Escalate production issues to the AP Team Lead as appropriate.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with SLAs and metrics.
  • Assist in creating and monitoring Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for team members not meeting targets.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance; CPA is an advantage.
  • Management experience required.
  • Previous accounting experience, particularly in Accounts Payable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Ability to lead and coach a team effectively.
  • Good team player with strong communication skills.
  • Responsible and accurate in task completion.
  • Ability to solve urgent matters and work under pressure.
  • Proactive and flexible, especially during month/quarter/year-end closing.
