A global professional services company are seeking a dedicated Accounts Payable Assistant Team Lead to supervise the delivery of all accounts payable activities and assist the AP Team Lead in meeting targets. This will be an initial 6 month contract role and will be based onsite in Hayes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise activities assigned by the Accounts Payable Team Lead.
- Understand and perform the AP lead role.
- Assist AP processors with day-to-day transaction processing questions and problems.
- Supervise the regular AP processing team.
- Provide assistance to staff and seek opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Comply with all client policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
- Escalate production issues to the AP Team Lead as appropriate.
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with SLAs and metrics.
- Assist in creating and monitoring Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) for team members not meeting targets.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance; CPA is an advantage.
- Management experience required.
- Previous accounting experience, particularly in Accounts Payable.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to lead and coach a team effectively.
- Good team player with strong communication skills.
- Responsible and accurate in task completion.
- Ability to solve urgent matters and work under pressure.
- Proactive and flexible, especially during month/quarter/year-end closing.
