Think Accountancy and Finance is working for an exciting business based in Hemel Hempstead that is now seeking an in-house bookkeeper!
This is a new role and will have sole charge responsibility for the accounts up to Trial Balance. This position will be supported by an External Accountant with a view to taking on more responsibilities over time.
They are looking for someone who is ambitious but also has a good base of bookkeeping experience within industry or practice. You will have some experience as a bookkeeper or Senior Accounts Assistant with a great working knowledge of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, reconciliations, debits and credits, and are happy to work in a sole charge role. Ideally, you will have experience with Sage; however, this is not essential.
The role will include the following duties:
- Accounts Payable
- Accounts Receivable
- Reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Bank reconciliations.
- VAT returns
- Trial Balance for monthly management accounts
- Journal entries
- Manage supplier accounts
- Liaising with the external accountant to support with month-end and year-end accounts
- Prepare monthly cash flows and forecasts.
- Support with office administration
Requirements
- Proven experience of bookkeeping and working up to trial balance
- Sage experience
- A good level of Excel including Pivot Tables
- AAT level 2, 3, or 4
Monday to Friday 9-5:30pm (Some flexibility)
4 days in the office, 1 from home
