The school is looking for a passionate Computer Science Teacher who can make the subject come alive for students, guiding them through everything from coding to understanding the fundamental principles of computer science. Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach engaging Computer Science lessons to students from Key Stage 3 to Key Stage 4, making the subject both accessible and challenging.

  • Plan and deliver lessons that help students build strong foundations in computer science concepts, coding, and problem-solving.

  • Create a classroom environment where students are encouraged to think critically, explore new ideas, and build their confidence in the subject.

  • Set and mark homework, providing helpful feedback that allows students to improve and learn from their mistakes.

  • Effectively manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and respectful learning environment.

  • Contribute to the development of teaching materials, resources, and schemes of work for the Computer Science department.

  • Help prepare students for their GCSE exams by providing targeted revision and support where needed.

  • Work closely with your colleagues to share teaching strategies, resources, and best practices.

  • Keep track of student progress, providing feedback to parents and senior leadership.

  • Attend staff and department meetings and take part in school events to support the wider school community.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • A passion for Computer Science and teaching.

  • Strong knowledge of computer science concepts, programming languages, and modern tech.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to keep students engaged and motivated.

  • Great communication skills, and the ability to work well with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Experience with classroom technology (e.g., interactive whiteboards, educational software) is a plus.

  • A commitment to professional development and a desire to improve your teaching methods.

  • An up-to-date Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one).
