We are recruiting for a Production Manager to join our Hereford based client on a full time, permanent basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and supervising the production department activities with the support of shift managers.
The ideal candidate will be a production management professional who demonstrates high attention to detail, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to motivate others whilst adapting to changing situations.
What you can expect:
- Salary: circa £45k, depending on experience
- Working hours: Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm
- Discretionary bonus
- 22 days plus bank holiday, increasing by 1 day after 5 years and a further day after 10 years

What you will be doing:
- Assist in the creation of the production plan and inform the Operations Manager of any implications
- Responsible for the execution of the production plan
- Ensure manufacturing processes deliver the planned output and yield performance
- Ensure products are manufactured to meet the customer expectations and specification
- Responsible for resource planning and manage the workforce in line with the company policy
- Ensure production data accuracy is maintained and verified
- Provide the Operations Manager with performance reports on a regular basis
- Create and publish KPI’s relating to the production performance on a daily basis
- Provide the General Manager with regular asset condition reports
- Ensure all tools and machines are maintained to a high standard
- Support the Operations Manager to implement improvements and projects as required
- Ensure that the facility and operations are safe and do not pose a risk to health and wellbeing of the workforce or visitors
- Ensure that products and components are stored correctly
- Maintain and enforce standard operating procedures
What we are looking for:
- Experienced in managing shift managers across on multiple shifts
- Understanding of extrusion and moulding manufacturing processes
- Leadership skills with a dynamic and enthusiastic shop floor management style
- Knowledge and experience of implementing continuous improvement techniques
- Good attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
