Our client are a leading global multi-modal freight forwarder & parcel distribution company, with its head office based in Heywood, Manchester. Our client helps to keep businesses all around the world, big and small, operating. They are one of the UK's fastest-growing logistics and freight forwarding companies with offices in China, USA, Netherlands & UK (HQ). They are continuing to grow their team with positions available at their head office in Lancashire.

Job Role:
As Freight Operations you will be the first point of contact for a portfolio of customers within the air and sea freight market. You will work to grow import and export activity, coordinate multiple stakeholders and develop existing relationships.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the first point of contact for new and existing customers, providing high level customer service and operational solutions.
- Use various freight exchanges and freight platforms that we have access to.
- Quoting, booking, coordinating, managing & monitoring multi-modal Freight movements from departure to arrival ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
- Ensure all necessary documentation is supplied.
- Handling customs clearances accurately and in a timely manner.
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel both internally and externally to ensure on time delivery to customers.
- Ensure complaints or issues are resolved or escalated in a timely manner
- Invoice in a timely and precise manner, including processing invoices and immediate payments.
- Achieve customer objectives defined by company management.
- Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel both internally and externally.
- Maintain and develop the computerised CRM system.
- Work within an existing supplier base.
- Completion of any weekly/monthly KPI reports.
- Respond and follow up any business enquiries via telephone, email, and personal visits when deemed necessary.

Skills and Requirements
- Demonstrable experience within the freight forwarding industry
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Detail driven and adherence to deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated and tenacious.
- Excellent team-worker with drive and enthusiasm.
- Computer literate with knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications.
- Familiarity with CRM software *desirable.
- Familiarity with Boxtop *desirable.
- Willingness to drive nationwide.
- Full UK driving licence.
