My client - a leading British Greentech company, is seeking a skilled and motivated Production Manager to oversee its manufacturing operations. The position will report to the board of directors, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing production processes, optimising efficiency, and ensuring product quality. This role is integral to the company's commitment to continuous improvement and sustainable HVAC solutions so will be well suited to someone who is familiar with managing senior stakeholders, while driving operational process efficiencies. 

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Plan, manage, and implement production schedules to meet customer demand.
  • Coordinate with procurement, logistics, and quality control departments to ensure smooth production workflows.
  • Monitor production processes and performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Optimise resource utilisation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and implement quality control standards throughout the production process.
  • Manage and develop production staff, enhancing their skills and productivity.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, processes, or equipment to improve production capabilities.
  • Analyse production data and reports to track performance against targets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve production-related issues and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager or in a similar role.
  • In-depth understanding of production processes, quality management systems, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Ability to lead and motivate teams to achieve production targets and quality standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organisation.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and project management tools/software.
  • Understanding of quality standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
  • Certification in production or operations management (e.g., Six Sigma) is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
