The role:

The Lead Mechanical Engineer will be joining a part of a larger team of multi skilled engineers working on static site in Preston on a Prestigious Industrial site carrying out planned and reactive maintenance on any general building maintenance, small installation projects, servicing and repairs.

Main Duties:

Conducting regular inspections of machinery and equipment
Performing preventative maintenance tasks according to schedules
Lubricating moving parts to ensure smooth operation
Replacing worn or damaged parts as needed
Troubleshooting mechanical issues and diagnosing problems
Repairing or adjusting mechanical components to restore functionality
Conducting tests to ensure proper functioning after maintenance or repairs
Documenting maintenance activities and keeping accurate records
Following safety procedures and protocols while working on machinery
Collaborating with other team members or departments for complex repairs or upgrades
Participating in training sessions to stay updated on new technologies and techniques
Implementing improvements to enhance equipment performance or reliability.
