  • 0500-14:15 (Monday-Thursday) & 0600 -14:15 (Friday) and 13:45-23:00 (Monday to Thursday) & 13:45- 22:00 (Friday)

Shift Technician:

  • Can you work in both Mechanical & Electrical disciplines?
  • Do you have previous experience working within Engineering / Maintenance, preferably in the food manufacturing / processing or pharmaceutical industries?
  • Are you experienced working within a multi-skilled, multi-disciplined team in a fast-moving manufacturing environment?
  • Do you hae a Mechanical Engineering qualification to C&G /NVQ Level 2 equivalent or higher / or achieved full Apprenticeship within this sector?
  • Is demonstrating mechanical fitting abilities /experience something you’re familiar with?
  • Would you be confident interpret Mechanical/assembly drawings?
  • Do you have good electrical installation and machine fault finding skills?
  • Are you a confident individual with good communication skills and ability to read and interpret electrical schematic drawings?

Main Purpose of the role:

  • Ensure minimal downtime of production facility through effective and timely maintenance and repair of plant and machinery (both Electrical & Mechanical)
  • Limitation of plant / equipment failure through effective planned preventative maintenance tasks as directed.
  • Support on-going production output by engaging in the Standby & Call-out Rota.
  • Engage in upskilling operators to enhance best practice on use of plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Problem solving in a logical and rational way.
  • Carry out works orders to repair and maintain plant and equipment.
  • Prioritise workloads to ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Order spares and parts as necessary.
  • Assist other Engineers and Contractors with installations & repairs.
  • Complete work on all of our clients sites, areas and plant & equipment, both electrical & mechanical as required, (within your skills, training & abilities)
  • Proactive approach to working safely at all times.
  • Active and positive engagement in the callout rota & respond as required.
  • Be proactive in ensuring all necessary documentation is completed correctly and handed in on time.
  • Adhere to the company’s hygiene, Environment, Health and Safety policies, systems, and safe working practices.
  • Respond to all departments for maintenance requests using the shift mobile phone provided.
  • Provide training and support to any member of the engineering team where required.
  • Maintain and promote a clean and tidy working environment and undertake housekeeping duties.
  • Carry out any reasonable request as requested by any member of management within the reasonable scope of the role.
  • Engage in building positive relationships with other employees and departments to facilitate harmony.
