The Role:

This upper school pride themselves on providing exceptional services to students and staff. The school restaurant, serving both secondary and preparatory departments, is a bustling hub of activity, dishing out over 550 meals daily. Join the team in creating a vibrant and welcoming dining experience!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate food service
  • Maintain hygiene and safety standards
  • Promote the catering service and increase uptake
  • Conduct staff training and manage resources effectively

Working Hours:

  • 32.5 hours per week during the school year (September to June)
  • Daily from 7:45 am to 2:45 pm
  • Breaks: 30-minute lunch and 10-minute morning break for tea/coffee

The Ideal Candidate:

Our client is looking for someone with:

  • Relevant qualifications in food safety and catering
  • Experience in large-scale catering, preferably in school meals
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently and meet deadlines
  • Flexibility and enthusiasm for teamwork

About the school:

A large co-educational and interdenominational voluntary grammar school situated on 25 acres of grounds on the edge of Holywood, overlooking Belfast Lough. There are at present 1,250 pupils in the school, some 180 of them in the Preparatory Department. It is owned and managed in all its affairs by the Board of Governors of the School, which is drawn from the local community and reflects the main religious denominations of Holywood. The school is funded directly by the Department of Education for Northern Ireland.
