- Oversee and provide line management for all departments under your remit.
- Interacting with customers and suppliers regarding technical project delivery details and supporting the design process by gaining customer approval for designs, manufacturing, and engineering considerations.
- Working closely with Sales to identify and facilitate forecasts and demands.
- Create/communicate Drawing and Purchasing plans to meet customer demand and release works orders in accordance with the plans created.
- Set clearly defined priorities and adjust plans as required to meet changing and ad hoc demands.
- Ensure that the Purchasing and Drawing teams will meet the required dates to start or complete work. Highlight to all stakeholders any issues and solutions put in place
- Analyse data to check stock and material availability, timings and routings were correct to meet customer demand.
- Collaborate with all company departments to ensure a shared understanding of project timelines and expectations.
- Track and analyse key performance indicators to measure the progress of schedules and improvements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance overall efficiency.
- Project management of technical aspects to enhance new and existing product development.
- Proactive supplier relationship management to ensure high quality products are produced and delivered efficiently for highly regulated industry sectors.
- Providing Mechanical Engineering advice and guidance to the Sales and Design teams
- Investigations of defects and solving quality problems during design and production.
- Interface with customers for audits & inspections.
- Support the New Product Introduction process including tooling, fixtures, jigs etc in association with Design and Manufacturing teams.
- Proven experience in a similar role
- Solid understanding of Mechanical Engineering (Qualification(s) strongly desirable)
- Strong MS Office Experience and Skills
- Experience using CAD software (Desirable)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
