Engineering ManagerAre you a knowledgeable Engineering professional looking for a new opportunity with a successful, growing company? If so, Pertemps Crawley are working alongside a leading Horsham-based manufacturer looking for an Engineering Manager to join their team.As Engineering Manager, you will be key part of the management team, liaising closely with Sales and Production Managers and their teams and being responsible for delivering effective and cohesive leadership for Design and Purchasing departments and their functions.Duties:
  • Oversee and provide line management for all departments under your remit.
  • Interacting with customers and suppliers regarding technical project delivery details and supporting the design process by gaining customer approval for designs, manufacturing, and engineering considerations.
  • Working closely with Sales to identify and facilitate forecasts and demands.
  • Create/communicate Drawing and Purchasing plans to meet customer demand and release works orders in accordance with the plans created.
  • Set clearly defined priorities and adjust plans as required to meet changing and ad hoc demands.
  • Ensure that the Purchasing and Drawing teams will meet the required dates to start or complete work. Highlight to all stakeholders any issues and solutions put in place
  • Analyse data to check stock and material availability, timings and routings were correct to meet customer demand.
  • Collaborate with all company departments to ensure a shared understanding of project timelines and expectations.
  • Track and analyse key performance indicators to measure the progress of schedules and improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance overall efficiency.
  • Project management of technical aspects to enhance new and existing product development.
  • Proactive supplier relationship management to ensure high quality products are produced and delivered efficiently for highly regulated industry sectors.
  • Providing Mechanical Engineering advice and guidance to the Sales and Design teams
  • Investigations of defects and solving quality problems during design and production.
  • Interface with customers for audits & inspections.
  • Support the New Product Introduction process including tooling, fixtures, jigs etc in association with Design and Manufacturing teams.
The Person:
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Solid understanding of Mechanical Engineering (Qualification(s) strongly desirable)
  • Strong MS Office Experience and Skills
  • Experience using CAD software (Desirable)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Detail oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
