Senior Accountant

Reed Recruitment are working with a local business and we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join the companies finance team on a 6-month contract basis. This role is ideal for a professional who excels in financial reporting, analysis, and compliance, and is looking for a challenging opportunity in Brighton.

• Prepare accurate monthly financial statements and reports for management.
• Analyse financial data and provide forecasting support.
• Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
• Manage general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end close processes.
• Reconcile account balances and bank statements, maintaining a clean ledger.
• Assist with tax audits and tax returns, ensuring timely submissions.
• Lead and support budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Mentor and guide junior accounting staff.
• Collaborate with finance team members to improve financial procedures and controls.

• Proven experience as a Senior Accountant.
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Proficiency in financial software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
• Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
• Sharp time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Keen attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors.
• Relevant certification (e.g., CIMA or ACCA) is highly desirable.
