JHE & Partners are excited to be working with a forward thinking, growing business based in Huddersfield. They are looking to recruit an experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Assistant on a part time basis. You will be working 25 hours Monday-Friday (4 days is also available) and can chose the hours that you work.

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this is an exciting time to join the business as it continues to expand. This is a busy and varied role within accounts department where you will be dealing with the general finance and stock which can be trained. Salary is £27,000-£30,000 FTE.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for completeness and accuracy of stock records
  • Entry of stock transactions to TMS system
  • Reconciliation of monthly physical stock counts to TMS system and analysis of variances
  • Annual update of standard costings
  • Raw Material ordering / scheduling call-offs to ensure optimum stock levels maintained
  • Issue of production orders to factory
  • Customer Invoicing and preparation / maintenance of the sales forecast and customer order book
  • Credit Control (cash allocations, monitoring AR and chasing any past due accounts)
  • Download daily bank transactions for entry to Sage 200 system
  • Maintain cashbook and supporting schedules and responsible for bank reconciliations
  • Manage foreign currency exposure by use of forward contracts
  • Accounts payable - invoice entry, statement reconciliations, preparation of supplier payment runs
  • Sage200
  • Preparation of monthly accruals list for any raw materials received but not invoiced
  • Ad-hoc Nominal journals as required
  • Provide cover for weekly wages preparation in absence of Finance Director
  • Provide cover for booking of transport and raising purchase orders in absence of Commercial Assistant
  • Preparation of analysis schedules for annual audit
  • General Reception duties as part of a small team - greeting visitors, answering phone, etc
