I am delighted to have been selected to recruit this pivotal role for my multi-national, award-winning client based in the Huddersfield area.

The current Customer Service Manager is looking to move on (timescales to be agreed) and my client is looking to bring a suitable candidate in now to learn about the products, services, clients and then step into the management position.

Whilst no actual timescales have been set my client is looking for the successful individual to initially start working within the customer service team ensuring they know & understand every aspect of the department which they envisage might take between 6-12 months.

After that period the candidate will then work alongside the incumbent manager, deputising in their absence and getting familiar with managing the team preparing for the time when the current manager moves on.

The overall role is to manage a small customer service team however below is just a sample of some of the key duties:

  • Delegate work to the team to ensure sales orders are processed in an accurate & timely manner.  
  • Ensure orders are acknowledged back to the customer, advising them of any changes’.
  • Amend orders already placed, ensuring that production and transport are kept informed of any changes.  
  • Supporting team members with process queries.
  • Book in deliveries.  Sending copies of delivery notes, ensuring they are signed and returned.  
  • Maintain the complaints and returns database and raising returns notes. 

My client is ideally looking for someone who is currently in a team leader role with some experience of managing a team however they are not looking for someone with multiple years of experience under their belt as the timescales involved in the transition process may prove frustrating to someone with a wealth of experience.

Your experience must be within either manufacturing, engineering, production or FMCG, we are not looking for a candidate that has worked in a professional services or large call centre environment. This is a relatively small team based within a manufacturing company.
