Job title: Craft Operative - Painter and Decorator

Pay rate: PAYE 15.42 | Umbrella 19.03

Location: Huddersfield,

Contract: Temporary, 3 months, Mon-Thur (Apply online only), Fri (Apply online only), 37 hours a week

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The postholder will be responsible for the decoration, internal and external, of Council properties, public buildings and schools
  • To ensure as far as reasonably practicable the satisfaction of the client or tenant with regard to quality of work, prompt services and conduct wherever work is to be carried out
  • Carrying out damp and mould treatment across all council properties
  • To ensure all relevant records, for example timesheets, are completed correctly by postholder as laid down by existing procedures
  • To keep abreast of technological developments within their trade
  • Must be prepared to work overtime as required

EDUCATION AND SKILLS:

  • City & Guilds/NVQ III in appropriate trade or equivalent
  • Hanging of wide fabric and paper lining
  • Apprentice trained Painter and Decorator.
  • Application of sprayed finishes
  • Working in a maintenance environment in domestic properties and schools
  • Working in public buildings
