Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview: As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing engineering solutions to manufacturing automation problems. You will provide input into concepts, encompassing our customers' manufacturing requirements, and be responsible for the mechanical design realisation of projects. Collaboration with various teams, including Application Engineering, Manufacturing, Automation, and Electrical Design, is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Design assembly machines, work cells, and manual tooling aids for factory production equipment.
• Analyse customer requirements, create specifications, and develop the scope, design, and drawing package for manufacturing equipment in a multi-discipline team environment.
• Support debug, troubleshooting, and integration activities.
• Analyse, size, and select commercial components, evaluating strength and cycle time requirements.
• Review drawings, prepare drawing documentation, and communicate with team members and suppliers.
• Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.

Candidate Specification:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent, HNC, or Apprenticeship with proven industry experience.
• Experience in designing machines and solutions for automated production processes from concept to delivery.
• Proficiency in producing engineering drawings, 3D-CAD models, and technical files in SolidWorks.
• Disciplined approach to project planning and management.
• Experience in preparing BOM and talent in researching new designs and systems.
• Creative mindset to develop innovative ideas and systematic problem-solving skills.

Mechanical Design Engineer Requirements:
- 5 years of design engineering experience, ideally within a relevant role/industry.
- Working experience withSolidWorks as a Mechanical Design Engineer
