Mechanical Design Engineer

White Label is working with an engineering and manufacturing company in Huddersfield that requires a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team.

They want a person who likes to get stuck in and wants to develop with the company. It’s a medium-sized business so there is a chance to make a real impact and grow with the business.

Responsibilities of the Mechanical Design Engineer

• Issue general arrangement drawings for the client’s approval
• Designing and developing product assemblies ready for manufacture
• Create drawing/manufacturing packs and issue them to the factory
• Re-engineering existing products
• Overseeing the entire manufacturing process of each job to ensure project timescales are met
• Communicate with clients and provide updates as required
• Work as part of a team to produce the best cost-effective design solutions and help automate standard designs

Experience required of the Mechanical Design Engineer

• Experience in using design software such as Solidworks or Inventor
• 3 years or more experience in industry
• Experience with sheet metal/moving equipment would be an advantage but can consider any mechanical engineering discipline.

Package & Salary

• £30,000 - £35,000 depending on the experience
• 24 days holiday + bank holidays
• Company pension
• 39/week Monday – Thursday 8 am-5 pm and Friday 8 am – 1:30 pm or Monday – Thursday 8:30 am – 5 pm and Friday 8:30 am – 4 pm
