A world leading manufacturer of capital equipment are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their growing team. Based in West Yorkshire, you will benefit from a starting salary of up to £40K (Depending on Experience), flexitime policy, early finish Friday's, an amazing work culture, and much more. As a Mechanical Design Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Mechanical design of new product developments using 3D modeling software
  • Ensuring product compliance with key ISO and safety standards
  • Ensuring that new products meet the requirements of the design brief and target manufacturing cost, as well as current safety legislation
  • Supporting and improving existing machines within the product range
  • Tailoring standard machines to suit customer bespoke requirements.
  • Providing technical support to the sales, purchasing, service, and production functions.
  • Assisting with the writing of machine manuals.
  • Producing stylish machine concepts, engineering drawing specifications, and bill of material information.
  • Overseeing projects from the concept stage through to completion.
  • Providing technical information for product documentation including sales brochures, spares lists, maintenance schedules
  • Liaising with external vendors.
  • Project work - producing / monitoring / reporting of Project plans, Product cost
  • Researching and developing innovative ideas.

To be a successful Mechanical Design Engineer you will have:

  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, Vault, AutoCAD Mechanical 2D and Microsoft Office.
  • Minimum BTEC HNC qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Good knowledge of engineering materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Good understanding / knowledge of selecting drive elements including, bearings, drive belts and linear products.
  • Good understanding of basic sealing elements, e.g. selecting O-ring, shaft seals, etc.
  • Excellent sheet metal design and modeling skills.
  • Basic understanding of hydraulics and pneumatics.
