As a Technical Field Engineer and part of the global customer services team with a mechanical or fabrication engineering background, you provide engineering support to the food manufacturing customers who process the products.

The technical Field Engineer as part of the customer focussed team will support with technology /engineering-based advice and problem-solving expertise to act as the prime field-based linkage, to help ensure delivery of key strategic business objectives on standards of the product.

Location - REMOTE working - UK wide customer sites. - fix machinery, / trouble shoot on products The post is working away from home a fair bit across the country, Ireland and on occasion, further afield,

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out overhaul, maintenance of seamers and cappers within our customers factories
  • Act as the interface in identification and resolution of issues with regards to Customer and/or Consumer complaints, maintaining a high level of communication and professionalism with the customer.
  • Support customers with improving line efficiencies and reduce spoilage and providing guidance to customers on Seamer tooling and Capping equipment
  • Support and work with our manufacturing sites with the identification and elimination of the causes of Customer complaints.
  • Support, with product and process expertise, implementation of European standardization and downgauging programs at customers
  • Act as the interface in the development and deployment of new products/innovations, ensuring company and customer requirements are met.
  • Work with the customer in coordinating trials of new products to ensure clear and necessary data is obtained and used in the review process
  • Support specific Customer initiative projects, ensuring pro-active and professional customer relationships are maintained.
  • Carry out Customer-based audits including, where necessary, filling, processing, and handling trials.
  • Monitor the physical performance of the product, ensuring achievement of specification with regards to pressure/temperature/peak performance and axial load. Support the European Customer service function as and when required.

Qualifications / Experience

  • Background - Ideally mechanical, will consider welding/fabrication or electrical.
  • Can making and Canning Capping process knowledge
  • Ability to discuss technical topics at all levels, fault find and solve problems in difficult situations
  • Methodical, and to adapt to changing/emerging technologies
  • Previous experience of working in a food manufacturing facility would be an advantage.
  • Works to relevant EHS guidance safely and unsupervised -
  • Full UK driving licence essential
