Depot Operations Manager -Huntingdon - Distribution/Logistics
Salary C: up to £40K Base Plus Bonus & benefits
Our client is a player in the UK Distribution /Logistics Market with a large number of branches across the UK. They are looking for a Depot Operation Manager to join the team at their depot in Huntingdon
Reporting to the Depot General Manager working Monday to Friday 07.30 .16.30 hrs you will be responsible for the following:Role
- Responsibility for actively managing the day-to-day running and operational procedures/performance of this depot with a "hands on approach "
- Leading and motivating a team in the pursuit of demanding cost, productivity and quality targets.
- Responsible for Compliance, Health and Safety and Depot Cost Analysis
- Staff appraisals and disciplinary s when necessary
- To deal with depot recruitment as authorised by the Depot General Manager
- Ensuring we meet and exceed challenging network service levels will be a key requirement of this role.
- Evident line management experience in production/logistics/mail/ parcels services environment
- Experience of running a multi shift logistics operation
- Proven record of delivering great service to Customers and managing on-going Customer relationships.
- Experience of managing a diverse workforce including sub- contractors, self- employed drivers and PAYE drivers.
- Experience of delivering a high level service and in budget.
What we are looking for !
VERY STRONG MAN MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE
- Must be able to work on own initiatives and in a pressurised environment to tight deadlines.
- PC literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of transport regulations.
- A numerate self -starter with a flexible approach to work to meet business requirements.
