Job Specification:
Quantity Surveyor/Assistant Quantity Surveyor required to join a team working in Wyton in Cambridgeshire on a 30million RAF project consisting of 1New Build and 1 Refurbishment.
The role is office-based but includes site visits. It will involve responsibility for understanding, quantifying, budgeting and managing the costs of the building work involved in the build construction project.
Responsibilities:
- To prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time.
- To assist and create feasibility studies.
- To prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
- To negotiate contracts and work schedules.
- To allocate work to sub-contractors and oversee their work at all stages of the project.
- To perform risk, value management and cost control checks throughout the project.
- To undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance work.
- To advise on procurement policies.
- To write detailed progress reports.
- To value completed work and arrange payments.
- To understandhealth and safety regulations and help ensure their implementation.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or aBTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management.
- A minimum of 3 years experience of managing elements of construction projects as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
