Job Specification:

Quantity Surveyor/Assistant Quantity Surveyor required to join a team working in Wyton in Cambridgeshire on a 30million RAF project consisting of 1New Build and 1 Refurbishment.

The role is office-based but includes site visits. It will involve responsibility for understanding, quantifying, budgeting and managing the costs of the building work involved in the build construction project.

Responsibilities:

  • To prepare and analyse project costings for tenders, such as materials, quantities, labour and time.
  • To assist and create feasibility studies.
  • To prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities.
  • To negotiate contracts and work schedules.
  • To allocate work to sub-contractors and oversee their work at all stages of the project.
  • To perform risk, value management and cost control checks throughout the project.
  • To undertake cost analysis for repair and maintenance work.
  • To advise on procurement policies.
  • To write detailed progress reports.
  • To value completed work and arrange payments.
  • To understandhealth and safety regulations and help ensure their implementation.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND/Degree in Quantity Surveying or aBTEC in Building Studies, Building Engineering or Building Management.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience of managing elements of construction projects as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor.
