My client is a multinational pump and valve company with over 100 years' experience in the industry. They provide new installations, workshop repairs, and onsite services to clients across the world. Due to their continuing growth, they are looking to add a Mechanical Fitter/Engineer to their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dismantle equipment to component level.
  • Identification of components.
  • Fault-finding on equipment.
  • Rectification work on equipment (Manual Lapping/stroke testing etc)
  • Assemble equipment using engineering drawings or experience/knowledge.
  • Interpret maintenance manuals, drawings, schematics, and repair equipment, utilising specialist knowledge and standard test instruments and tools.
  • Consult with engineering personnel to resolve unusual problems encountered.
  • Testing of all valves for hydro/pneumatic/seat test etc. to shell standards or to the customers requirements.
  • Carry out all work practices in line with Company Health and Safety Policy.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Meet high standard of cleanliness and housekeeping.
  • Support site activities.
  • Present a professional Image, support and promote brand values at all times.
  • Liaise with workshop personnel at all levels.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Time served Craft Apprenticeship or Equivalent
  • Relevant qualification to NVQ Level 3/4
  • People Skills, teamwork and collaboration
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service
  • Commercially aware
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience in the overhaul of valves and their associated tests.

37.5 hrs per week any additional hours will be paid at 1.5
