Job Title: Site Agent - Earthworks Package

Location: Yeovil, United Kingdom

Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience

Duration: 6-month contract, with extension and involvement in other civil projects

Company Overview: We're working witha leading construction firm specializing in major infrastructure projects across the UK. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, we are proud to be at the forefront of shaping the nation's infrastructure landscape. We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Site Agent to join our team for a significant highways project based in Yeovil, with an earthworks package valued at 11 million.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the successful delivery of the earthworks package on a major highways project, ensuring adherence to project specifications, budgets, and timelines.
  • Coordinate and manage on-site activities, including subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel, to ensure efficient and safe execution of works.
  • Implement and maintain robust health, safety, and environmental procedures in accordance with company standards and statutory regulations.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders, including client representatives and engineering teams, to provide regular updates on project progress and address any issues or concerns.
  • Utilize NEC contract management principles to effectively administer the contract and resolve any contractual matters that may arise.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Site Agent or similar role, ideally within the highways or civil engineering sector.
  • Extensive experience in earthworks construction, including excavation, embankment construction, and soil stabilization techniques.
  • Strong understanding of NEC contract management principles and previous experience working with NEC contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with a range of stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership capabilities, with a track record of successfully managing site teams and subcontractors to deliver projects to the highest standards.
  • Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or construction management are highly desirable.
