Commissioning Manager Major M&E Project, Canary Wharf

A leading engineering contractor with a proven track record in delivering complex data centres, commercial developments, and high-tech infrastructure projects is seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to take ownership of the full commissioning lifecycle on a landmark project in Canary Wharf, London.

This permanent role offers the opportunity to lead commissioning planning and execution from early-stage coordination to client handover, across technically advanced building systems. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical understanding, excellent organisational capabilities, and a proactive leadership approach to delivering critical building services systems safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.

Responsibilities:
Take full responsibility for the pre-commissioning, commissioning, and handover phases across assigned M&E projects.
Develop and manage detailed commissioning schedules, aligned with project milestones and stakeholder expectations.
Coordinate all commissioning activities with supply chain partners and internal project teams.
Lead a team of site and office-based commissioning engineers and specialists.
Deliver regular progress updates and reporting on commissioning status to internal teams and clients.
Manage documentation collation and ensure all O&M manuals, test results, and compliance records are compiled and delivered in full.
Conduct formal system demonstrations and handovers to the client and aftersales support teams.
Collaborate closely with the design and project delivery teams to support system readiness and compliance.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations, ensuring commissioning practices reflect latest requirements.
Validate system performance to ensure installations meet technical submittals, performance criteria, and safety standards.

Requirements:
Current professional membership with CIBSE, BSRIA, CSA, or a related industry body.
Proven experience in a similar commissioning role within the energy, commercial, or M&E sectors.
Demonstrated ability to plan, manage, and deliver comprehensive commissioning strategies on major building services projects.
Exceptional organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to lead teams and coordinate multiple workstreams.
Strong technical knowledge across M&E systems and their commissioning requirements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office and commissioning/project management tools (Viewpoint preferred).
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
