A Major Loss Adjusters are now seeking an experienced Desk-Top Claims Adjuster to join their expanding Property Division where you will work closely with the Field Adjusters managing a variety of Property Claims in complexity and value through to settlement.

  • This role is remote working on a desk-top basis offering excellent remote team support.
  • Training and support will also be provided for those looking for the next step in the career working towards being a fully qualified Field Adjuster.

Key aspects of the role:

  • Manage your own caseload of Domestic and Commercial Property Claims through to settlement
  • Interpret and apply policy cover, terms and conditions as appropriate
  • Use your knowledge of Building structures including foundations, walls, the nature of building materials and material pathology such as freeze-thaw cycle, moisture gradients, rising damp etc.
  • Correctly diagnose defects and identify the most appropriate remedial action
  • Deal with all insurable perils and understand policy wordings and the principles of building repair and maintenance
  • Utilise knowledge of contractors all risks, business interruption and SME claims settlement
  • Handle all aspects of contents claims handling
  • Carry out processes and procedures following fire and flood and similar related incidents
  • Proactively direct an investigation appropriate to the circumstances
  • Make judgements and tailor existing practice to settle complex cases
  • Provide in-depth and expert advice to customers, clients and other loss adjusters
  • Undertake investigative interviews on allocated cases
  • Obtain witness statements
  • Negotiate settlements

About you:

  • Insurance Claims experience (Property) cradle to grave
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment
  • A good understanding of buildings structures including foundations, the nature of building materials and contents claims
  • Flexible approach and adaptable to changing priorities
  • ACII and ACILA preferred or a keenness to study towards
