Our client is a global manufacturer of Petrochemical, Speciality Chemicals and Oil products, due to continued growth they are now looking to add an Electrical Engineer to be based at their site in Aberdeen. You will provide front line Electrical Engineering support to the operations site-based team and deliver engineering modifications and technical discipline input to the Projects team.

Responsibilities
  • Specify, scope and execute improvements to electrical systems.
  • Act as asset electrical engineering focal point for site projects, including studies
  • Act as Electrical single point of accountability (SPA) for long-term Asset strategy.
  • Lead discipline improvements in plant reliability, equipment strategy, defect elimination and equipment rationalisation.
  • Define and own the assets electrical spares strategy.
  • Lead improvements in plant reliability, root cause analysis, defect elimination and continuous improvement.
  • Lead / contribute to safety reviews, risk assessments and investigations as the electrical engineering focal point.
  • Act as custodian of asset maintenance strategies for electrical equipment.
  • Support the maintenance team with the implementation of planned maintenance routines.
  • Support the maintenance team in regards to equipment breakdown; including investigation of fault, defect resolution and execution of breakdown maintenance.
  • Act as custodian of key electrical engineering documentation including Power System Study, RFI Ignition Study, Lightning Risk Assessment, High Energy Electrical Equipment Risk Assessment, Ex Inspection
  • Responsible Engineer for Asset Electrical MOCs (Management of Change) proposals
  • Participation in the incident management team as required
  • Travel to Offshore Platforms or remote onshore sites to provide technical support
  • Participation in the Asset self-audit program.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Candidates will hold a Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Be a Chartered Engineer or actively working to achieve chartered status;
  • Hold 10+ years experience including experience of Oil & Gas, Refining or Chemical Industries
  • Knowledge and experience of electrical equipment used in explosive atmospheres and in relevant legislation such as ATEX and DSEAR;
  • Knowledge and experience of the design, operation, commissioning and maintenance of HV (up to 33kV) and LV industrial power systems and plant equipment
  • Comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of relevant UK Regulatory (Safety Case, COMAH) and industry standards.
