We’re on the lookout for a highly capable Assistant Accountant who’s ready to take ownership of core finance operations and become a trusted partner to the Finance Director. You’ll play a pivotal role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting strategic decision-making, and ensuring the business is audit-ready as it scales globally.

This is a hands-on position that demands precision, initiative, and a deep understanding of Sage 50. You’ll be the go-to person for everything from ledger management to VAT returns, stock valuations, and BOMs. If you love solving problems, streamlining processes, and making systems work smarter—not harder—this is the role for you.

? Finance Operations & Ledger Management

  • Own the purchase and sales ledgers
  • Process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and payments
  • Reconcile accounts and prepare monthly payment runs

? Month-End & Management Accounts Support

  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain clean ledgers
  • Manage invoice discounting schedules
  • Prepare accurate data for management accounts

? Compliance & Reporting

  • Submit VAT returns across the group
  • Handle intercompany invoicing and reconciliations
  • Maintain audit-ready records

? Stock & BOMs

  • Build and maintain Bills of Materials in Sage 50
  • Support monthly stock takes and valuations

? System Excellence

  • Be the in-house Sage 50 Professional expert
  • Spot errors, resolve discrepancies, and improve processes

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience if working on Sage 50 or equivalent.
  • Strong grasp of management accounts and reconciliations
  • Part AAT Level 4 qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and Word
  • A proactive, reliable, and detail-driven mindset
