Our client is a thriving business based on the outskirts of Ipswich and they are looking to recruit a part time Assistant Accountant to work alongside the Financial Controller. This is a part time role based in their offices, which are easily accessible from the A14, and is around 18-24 hours per week. These hours can be worked across three days or four/five shorter days, to fit in with other commitments.

Candidates will be at least AAT level 4 qualified and have proven experience of working in a similar position. Duties will include:

To calculate and post all monthly journals including accruals, prepayments, provisions, intercompany, Payroll, depreciation Balance sheet releases.
Maintenance and control of the General Ledger to ensure all nominal accounts are up to date
Complete Monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations.
Assist with the preparation and review of the Monthly Management Accounts pack, monthly forecasts and annual budgets, investigating variances and providing commentary.
Responsibility for monthly Payroll submission to Bureau service.
Complete and submit quarterly VAT return for the group.
Assist with the annual P11d and PSA Calculations
